Not long ago I talked about how to create content for your blog or rather, how to inspire you to create content related to the interests of your audience. The problem is that sometimes your content is so great that others copy it. Duplicate content and content plagiarism hurts your site in many ways and it’s not just SEO.
Although at first this was not a problem, today it is because it affects your site in a very negative way, All the work you put into SEO could be damaged because of Plagiarism. For example if your content goes viral you will find copies of your content in blog feeds and sometimes even copied and pasted onto others blog. When this happens the internal links in your post become inbound links from many other sites if you get to many of the same inbound links it alerts google that you are trying to spam the system and you will get penalized. Plagiarism is no joke. You never think it’s going to happen to you… until it does! I’ve had people steal complete blog posts and pass them off as their own. It’s jarring to see your content on another site, but there are measures you can take to get it taken down. I had to learn all of that the hard way. These are great plagiarism checker suggestions, Brain. I’ll be checking them out directly!
Hey Brian,
SUCH a great post, seriously I just spent 20 minutes searching up my content on the sites you’ve listed. They found nothing so I’m pretty happy about that.
