1. Decide your Niche

what is a niche?

A niche is used to describe a specific subject, topic or category.

The first thing you must do when starting a blog is decide what you want to blog about (your niche). If you do not already have a product to sell, I suggest you find a topic you enjoy or are passionate about. It’s much easier to write articles and posts about something that you’re interested in.

Domain

2. Find a Domain Name

After you have decided your niche it will be time to purchase a domain name. My domain registrar of choice is Godaddy.com. Your domain name will cost you between $10 and $20 per year. You can find promo codes to lower the price at coupon sites like cyber-week.com.

Tip: When choosing a domain name make sure it is catchy, easy to remember and unique.

3. Purchase Your Hosting

What is Hosting?

Web hosting is a type of Internet hosting service that allows individuals and organizations to make their website accessible via the World Wide Web. In simpler terms hosting is like renting an office for your website.

For this tutorial I will be using BlueHost to show you how easy it is to set up. BlueHost offers a “One-Click” WordPress installation which is one of the best blogging platforms available. BlueHost Plans start at about $5.00/month.

Setting Up BlueHost Account

1. Go to Bluehost.com and click on the sign up now button.
